Shin Ultraman Film Plans For Early Summer 2021 Release

Tsuburaya has announced plans to release the Shin Ultraman film in early Summer 2021.

The news was followed by the unveiling of a statue of Shin Ultraman in his “Specium Ray” pose. The statue is 1/33 scale (or around 2 meters tall) and features the character in his movie form.

Appearing at the statue reveal was Hideaki Anno, Shinji Higuchi, and Katsuro Onoue.

The news was announced in Sukagawa, Fukushima, the birthplace of the “Father of Tokusatsu” Eiji Tsuburaya. The Sukagawa Archive Center was opened with the goal of preserving, restoring and researching content to share with visitors. Admission is free.

Shin Ultraman will be produced by Tsuburaya Productions and distributed by Toho Co. The screenplay is being written by Hideaki Anno and directed by Shinji Higuchi. The cast will include Takumi Saitoh as the protagonist and “Man who becomes Ultraman”, Masami Nagasawa who will serve as his partner, and Hidetoshi Nishijima.
