Kohei Shoji Makes Acting Debut As a New Warrior In Mashin Sentai Kiramager

Kohei Shoji (庄司浩平) will make his acting debut in Mashin Sentai Kiramager in early June. It was revealed he will portray Kiramai Silver/Crystallia Takamichi (クリスタリア宝路 (たかみち) – Kurisutaria Takamichi).

Mashin Sentai Kiramager is the 44th Super Sentai series and is currently airing on TV Asahi.

Shoji is part of a men’s entertainment group and will make his debut as an actor after passing the audition round.

Kiramai Silver uses a drill-type weapon called the “Shiny Breaker.” Takamichi also has the habit of adding the word “wonder” to his sentences, such as “Wonder thank you.” He is a powerful and reliable character, while also being cheerful and radiates positivity. At his core, he has the strength to take on situations seriously. The actor mentioned that the character has his imperfections like the other members and some may think his character is a little unusual.

Shoji mentioned in an interview that he was excited about jumping into the series. He watched Dekaranger when he was young and it had a great effect on him. He hopes to do his best so others can think “I want to be like Kiramai Silver!” As for the outfits Takamichi wears, Shoji requested the character wear plain clothing with some “flashy” touches. Viewers may also notice hints from his regular wear and Kiramai Silver suit, such as the goggles.

Regarding his work with other members of the cast, he states they’re all very nice, especially since the shooting has already been underway. Because of COVID-19, he hasn’t been able to shoot with all five members yet, but he has been able to speak to Mio Kudo (Sayo Oharu/Kiramai Pink) through shooting.

Regarding the show as a view, he believes it’s an interesting work for children and adults. The story is only in early stages, but he is already looking forward to the future.

In a message to viewers, Shoji feels it’s important for Kiramager to deliver a bright and sparkling experience because of the current state of the world. His character will soon join the cast, so he hopes viewers will look forward to it.

Shoji also stated he will “Stay Home” so everyone can have peace of mind and come back someday. (Viewers may remember that Rio Komiya, who portrays Juru Atsuta/Kiramai Red, tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month but has since been discharged from the hospital to recover). When filming resumes, he stated he will do his best to improve and to do his best delivering smiles and sparkles.
