Hassei Takano (高野八誠) has previously appeared in various tokusatsu series, such as Ultraman Gaia, Kamen Rider Ryuki, Kamen Rider the First and the Next films, and more.
Recently, Takano has appeared behind the scenes. His most recent film, HE-LOW 2, enjoyed a public screening on Saturday, August 3.
Takano was born in Chiba Prefecture. Even at an early age, he was more “realistic” about the performances he watched. When watching tokusatsu shows, he was more interested in the shooting than the performance. When attending a Michael Jackson concert in Japan with his parents, he was more interested in the special effects.
Takano joined a theater company in Tokyo when he was in elementary school. The following year, he made his debut in an NHK drama. His school days were busy between learning and performing in works.
The turning point of his career was the role of Hiroya Fujimiya/Ultraman Agul in Ultraman Gaia. His acting ability and work improved, later taking on the role of Miyuki Tezuka/Kamen Rider Raia in Kamen Rider Ryuki. it was a unique series that featured Riders from all walks of life.
Also appearing in HE-LOW 2 are his Kamen Rider Ryuki co-star Takamasa Suga (須賀貴匡), who played Shinji Kido/Kamen Rider Ryuki and Takayuki Tsubaki (J椿隆之) who played Kazuma Kenzaki/Kamen Rider Blade.
The HE-LOW films were funded by crowdfunding campaigns. The first one was so successful that the sequel was decided. The film also has scenes from places he visited. There are many scenes which have ordinary people and aren’t extras. While the screenings for HE-LOW 2 take place, he hopes that viewers will enjoy it.
