Naomi Watanabe is a style icon and comedienne in Japan. Watanabe hosts a show on NHK TV: NAOMeets Fashionista. Every Thursday at 11PM, she speaks with various models and fashionista around the world.
On July 4th, she will meet with actor and model Shun Nishime (西銘駿), who previously portrayed Takeru Tenkuji/Kamen Rider Ghost. Nishime has been performing more modeling these days, recently appearing at the Tokyo Girls Collection show in Kumamoto.
Most of the show focuses on fashion trends and modeling, but in the casual Studio Talk segment, they discussed other topics. Watanabe discussed the struggles that she faced, such as “Fashion is impossible for comedians.”
Nishime also spoke about his experiences. After recording Kamen Rider Ghost, fans thought he was only “pure and cool,” like the character he played on-screen. Nishime began to feel very worried and anxious about only being seen as that type of character and wanted to dispel those labels.
Nishime spoke to Watanabe about how she overcame the most difficult times, which inspired the model/actor to try harder to break those labels.
