On April 1, 2017, Toei announced Kamen Rider Brain, a spin-off of the Kamen Rider Drive series. It would be released in 2035. Though it was obviously a joke, fans were amused at the possibility.
Kamen Rider Brain has yet again made the spotlight, but on April 2, 2019, two years after the joke. While Japan is excited over the recently announcement of the new era, another announcement was made.
Kamen Rider Brain will be an official special available only on the Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club app. Shota Matsushima (松島庄汰) will reprise his role as Brain for a two episode special in late April.
Directing the short series is Kyohei Yamaguchi (山口恭平) who directed several episodes of Kamen Rider Drive, with Riku Sanjo (三条陸) as screenwriter.
