Kamen Rider Kaixa Day Festival Held on September 13, 2018

Kamen Rider 555 celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2018. On September 13 in Shinjuku, the 913 Festival was held. 913 represents Kaixa’s code when he transforms.

Fans gathered in the hall were cheering in excitement before the event began. Kohei Murakami (村上幸平) who appeared as Masato Kusaka/Kamen Rider Kaixa railled fans. He wore clothing from the show, including his driver and weapons.

At the event, Murakami also showcased items from the recent Hello Kitty x Kamen Rider 555 collaboration. He discussed his appearance on the currently running show, Kamen Rider ZI-O.

Fans participated in a 913 Quiz where everyone had to answer questions. Murakami was the most lively as he pretended a red ball was his childhood friend-turned-love interest Mari Sonoda. He announced that he would finally get his “Rider kiss” but to the amusement of the crowd, the announcer corrected him that “That never happened in the show.”

At the event, he revealed that Kaiza will appear in the Data Carddass Kamen Rider Battle Gambarising Rt2. Fans cheered in excitement at the news.

After a short break, it was time for the “Guest Corner.” The audience was shocked to see Kamen Rider 555 screenwriter Toshiki Inoue (井上敏樹) appear with a bouquet of red roses. For the next twenty minutes, both men happily talked about how much they adored each other. Compliments were exchanged back and forth.

Kento Handa (半田健人), who played Takumi Inui/Kamen Rider Faiz, also appeared on stage. Both men discussed their upcoming release of their duet cover of 「Justiφ’s」, the theme song of Kamen Rider 555. Handa expressed that “I wanted to do it because Murakami and I became real friends. Thank you.” Their goal was to sing together at the upcoming Budokan.

At the end of the festival, Murakami admitted that it was difficult to arrange this year’s 913 festival, but tried his hardest to convince his office. He managed to host it again for fans, and became tearful as he spoke.

Next year, Murakami stated that he won’t be able to hold the event because he has accepted a new role. Though the event won’t be held on September 13, 2019, he gave his gratitude to fans all over the world for their support.
