Shu Watanabe Appears at 2018 Calendar Release Event

Shu Watanabe recently participated in a calendar release event on October 28, 2017 in Tokyo. Watanabe is known for his leading role as Eiji Hino/Kamen Rider OOO and appearance in the live-action film Attack on Titan.

The calendar contains 14 pages of various images to replicate magazine covers. Watanabe smiled and stated “I made it with the concept of a magazine cover because I like fashion.” He also said “My favorite page is November. I like to relax while posing, so it feels like I’m relaxing at home.”

Regarding the calender style, he said “Because it’s a desktop calendar, you can leave your favorite image on your desk all the time, even if you buy 14 calenders and arrange them in an arch shape (laugh).” He was asked if he would give one to a co-star on Kasouken no Onna and he said “If you want it, I would send 100 books but only if you arranged 14 books in an arch around you.”

Watanabe celebrated his 26th birthday on October 26. He was surprised while filming Kasouken no Onna. On a monitor, a picture said “Happy Birthday.”

He discussed future roles “I would like to do roles where I wear a sailor suit with a female co-star. I have never been serious about Halloween cosplay, but I wish I could if I had someone to do it with. But I want to do a role of a boy who has troubles, and not just hobbies!” He continued to say, “I would like to do morning dramas like on NHK.”

Watanabe also spoke about his ambitions, “I appeared on Hangul Course on TV” for about a year until March 2017. Since I began studying, I want to do works using Hangul language. I have learned a lot, so it would be interesting to use it in a drama.”

At the end, Watanabe said to fans, “I’m honored to be able to thank everyone at these calendar events. I’d like to have a lot of these events in the future, if I have the chance. If you have enjoyed how I’ve changed, I hope you will be able to wait for next year’s event.”

Watanabe will be appearing in the upcoming film Brave Storm and reprising his role as Eiji Hino/Kamen Rider OOO in Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FINAL Build & Ex-Aid with Legend Riders on December 9th, 2017. He will also be appearing in the drama Omakori and Shukatsu 2, which is about job hunting, in 2018.
