Rio Uchida Wins Supporting Actress Award for Ossan’s Love Role
Rio Uchida (内田理央) is currently acting in the TV Asahi drama Ossan’s Love. She portrays Chizu Arai, a supporting character in the series.
Ossan’s Love is a romantic comedy that tells the story of a single real estate worker, Soichi Haruta, who is told to become independent by his mother. He’s never lived on his own before and has trouble completing simple chores and making meals. He decides to move in with a co-worker, Ryota Maki, who has all the daily living skills Haruta is lacking. While Haruta is learning how to become an independent adult, more trouble occurs at work when Haruta’s superior confesses to him.
Uchida won the 22nd Daily Sports Drama Grand Prix “Supporting Actress Award” for her role on the show. It’s the first award she’s won for acting.
Uchida expressed joy at winning the award, admitting that after Kamen Rider Drive, she was tempted to give up acting. She’s now having a lot of fun thanks to Ossan’s Love.
Uchida previously portrayed Kiriko Shijima in Kamen Rider Drive.
