Junon Boys Star in Kamen Rider For 4 Consecutive Years

On August 7, 2018, the lead actor for Kamen Rider ZI-O was revealed. Sou Okuno (奥野壮) will play Sougo Tokiwa.

Okuno is the fourth “Junon Boy” who has starred in a Kamen Rider series. Previously starring in Kamen Rider were Atsuhiro Inukai (犬飼貴丈) in Kamen Rider Build, Hiroki Iijima (飯島寛騎) in Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, and Shun Nishime (西銘駿) in Kamen Rider Ghost.

Masaki Suda (菅田将暉) of Kamen Rider W and Shu Watanabe (渡部秀) of Kamen Rider OOO also participated in the Junon Boy contest, and drew attention to the series due to their looks.

Okuno won the Photogenic Award in the 30th Junon Super Boy Contest that was held in 2017, out of over 17,000 people.

During the cast presentation on August 7, Okuno enthusiastically stated “I’m standing on the same starting line as my great seniors. On the other hand, I feel nervous, so I want to work hard. Thank you.”

Others in the have noticed the recent trend of choosing a Junon Boy to star in a Kamen Rider series.

Hassei Takano (高野八誠), who portrayed Miyuki Tezuka/Kamen Rider Raia in Kamen Rider Ryuki and in the Ultraman series commented on Twitter:
