Mahiro Takasugi Discusses Voice Acting Debut

Mahiro Takasugi (高杉真宙), who played Mitsuzane Kureshima/Kamen Rider Ryugen in Kamen Rider Gaim recently appeared at the stage talk for I Want to Eat Your Pancreas by Yoru Sumino (住野よる).

Takasugi discussed his voice acting role in the anime adaptation I Want to Eat Your Pancreas. He will portray the male lead, Boku. The announcement was previously made earlier in 2018, but he finally had the opportunity to discuss the role.

Takasugi stated that he had an interest in anime and manga, and had a desire to take on a voice acting role. When he heard he got the role as Boku, he was surprised and speechless.

The actor added that Lynn, who is the voice actress of the main heroine Sakura Yamauchi, made it possible for him to play the role.

The voice acting cast recalled emotional moments during recording, such as a time when Lynn’s performance of Sakura was so moving that the cast began to cry.

The anime adaptation of I Want to Eat Your Pancreas debuts later this year.
