Live Action Inuyashiki Film Wins the 36th Golden Raven Award

The Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF) features a selection of short and full-legnth films. It is known for its Golden Raven award, which is given to the most outstanding science-fiction, horror, or thriller film. Previous award winners have included Army of Darkness (1993) and I Am a Hero (2016).

The official Inuyashiki Twitter account has announced the film has won the 36th Golden Raven Award.

Inuyashiki tells the story of 58-year-old Ichiro Inuyashiki and Hiro Shishigami, who have been transformed into cyborgs after being struck by a mysterious meteor. The series follows the opposite personalities of the men: Inuyashiki is inspired to help people while Shishigami wants bloodshed.

It was officially screened on April 10th and has already received high-praise. Hiroya Oku, the creator of the original manga series, stated that he was thrilled that international audiences could experience this unique Japanese series.

The Inuyashiki Live Action movie cast includes:

  • Ichiro Inuyashiki – Noritake Kinashi
  • Hiro Shishigami – Takeru Satoh ( Kamen Rider Den-O)
  • Naoyuki Ando – Kanata Hongo (GANTZ, Fullmetal Alchemist)
  • Shion Watanabe – Fumi Nikaido
  • Mari Inuyashiki – Ayaka Miyoshi
  • Takeshi Inuyashiki – Nayuta Fukuzaki
  • Marie Inuyashiki – Mari Hamada
  • Yuko Shishigami – Yuki Saito
  • Detective Hagihara – Yusuke Iseya (Casshern)

Shinsuke Sato will direct the film and previously worked on the live action adaptations of GANTZ and GANTZ: Perfect Answer.

The film will be released in theaters on April 20, 2018.
