Kamen Rider Den-O’s Takeru Satoh and Ultraman Zero The Movie’s Tao Tsuchiya star together in The 8-Year Engagement. The movie was released on December 16, 2017 and is released off of a true story. The movie is about a couple to planning their wedding. Tsuchiya becomes seriously ill and falls into a coma. Sato does not give up on his future bride. When Tsuchiya wakes up, she has no memory of her husband-to-be.
For Takeru Satoh, it was a different role than he was used to. He was able to portray a normal man, instead of a Kamen Rider (in Den-O), swordsman (Rurouni Kenshin), or cyborg (Inuyashiki).
Tao Tsuchiya still looks upon her past as Princess Emerana Luludo Esmeralda in Ultraman fondly. It was her first role as a heroine, and as an Ultraman fan, she was happy for the opportunity. In 2017, she took to the stage of the Ultraman Festival. She has visited the festival every year prior to her Ultraman role.
Some actors and actresses who have appeared on tokusatsu shows avoid referring back to those roles in their future careers. There was a previous case where fans would consider those roles a “dark history” in their past.
The stars of The 8-Year Engagement have worked hard to promote their careers, and they will continue to make an impact in the future.
