On December 6, 2017, a Director’s Cut Edition of Kamen Rider Den-O: Final Countdown will be released. A commemorative screening event featuring actors from the movie was held.
Kamen Rider Den-O, which was broadcast on TV Asahi in January 2007 to 2008, celebrated its tenth anniversary this year. Directer Osamu Kaneda appeared on-stage with members from the Kamen Rider Den-O television and movie series.
Dori Sakurada, who portrayed Kotaro Nogami/Kamen Rider Den-O, said that “tickets for the screening were almost immediately sold out within minutes”. Even ten years later, he is still thankful to his seniors in the Den-O series.
Yuichi Nakamura, who portayed Yuto Sakurai/Kamen Rider Zeronos, also participated in the screening. He admitted at first, he had trouble making friends with the rest of the cast. He felt that Teddy’s suit actor, Shinichi Kaneda, was his only friend. Sakurada confessed his “first impressions of Nakamura were scary”. Because Sakurada was filiming on a tight schedule, he was sleeping in the back of a bus, and was kicked in the back of the chair by Nakamura, who had fallen asleep behind him. Sakurada considered it is “baptism from a senior Rider”. Nakamura had no idea and laughed while apologizing.
Afterwards, they were able to greet each other properly, and Sakurada realized that “Nakamura is not a scary person.” which brought out laughter from the venue.
Tamaki Matsumoto, who portrayed Kohana, also appeared. Nakamura expressed how happy he was to see her after such a long period of time. He was surprised at how much she’d grown. She recalled fond memories, such as the time she and Nakamura had shaved ice during shooting in hot weather. She said during that time, she was innocent and got along well with everyone without any fuss, and everyone would touch her head and greet her. “But now that’s not the case” she laughed.
Kamen Rider Den-O: Final Countdown will be released on Blu-ray on December 6, 2017. This talk show will be included on the disc.
