Rengoku ni Warau, or Laughing in Purgatory, has been announced as an upcoming stage play. The play is based off of the manga of the same name, written and illustrated by Karakara Kemuri.
Rengoku ni Warau is set 300 years before the events of Donten ni Warau, but 300 years after Utakata ni Warau. Once every 300 years, “Orochi”, the legendary monster, revives in Lake Biwa. Warriors of that time must gather in order to destroy it. Set during the Sengouku period, Sakichi Ishida meets a pair of twins at the Kumo shrine.
