Tatsuomi Hamada Discusses Starring Role in Ultraman Geed

Actor Tatsuomi Hamada (16) will star as Riku Asakura in the upcoming Ultraman Geed. It will begin on TV Tokyo on Saturday, July 8, 2017. The 16 year old actor will be the youngest protagonist in the series. He was born in Chiba in August 2000. He started acting due to the influence of his grandmother. His debut was in 2006. He appeared in the 2009 NHK Taiga drama series, after being selected out of 1000 applicants.

Hamada has been a big fan of Ultraman since childhood. He appeared in the film Ultraman Zero: The Revenge of Belial. Hamada stated “It’s been my dream since Kindergarten to become Ultraman.”

Hamada plays the lead character Riku Asakura. He is the son of Ultraman Belial, an enemy of Ultraman Zero. He said, “I think Belial was first an enemy, but he now takes on a fatherly role.”

Otsuichi (Hirotaka Adachi), a best-selling mystery and young adult novelist, is the screenwriter for Ultraman Geed. Koichi Sakamoto will be lead director of the action sequences.

Hamada said “Ultraman Geed inherits Belial’s genes, but he will confront his own destiny. Please watch over how he grows.”
